Many babies will need only Small and Large for most of their diapering career. Medium will sometimes see a baby out of diapers. Extra Small is for only the smallest babies. And Extra Large works well for very large toddlers or for those who prefer a high rise diaper on a big baby.

Measure your baby. What size your baby needs depends on Baby's build more than weight or age. Check waist first. For a cover, measure over the diaper.

• Waist: This is the most important measurement. Everything else can vary according to how you prefer the diaper and cover to fit. Measure at or near bellybutton.
• Leg: Measure around the top of the thighs at a slight angle.
• Rise: Measure from bellybutton, down under, and back to the small of the back.
